![]() ![]() Here are the fishing macros and tricks i suggest to use.ġ. I have caught almost every "normal" fish and have most of the fishing achievements and all the cooking recipes, except the rogue one and Dirge's. Having to do it while running all over searching for particular schools of fish required to level cooking would double or tripple the /played time required. It is the most mind-numbing PITA I've yet experienced in WoW. Gonna get to 450 this weekend and be done with fishing and never reroll another main and never level fishing again, ever. Did both at Lushwater Oasis in Barrens just south of WC so I could sell the Deviate Fish for 20g/stack.įrom 1-225 took a few hours, but from 225 to 375 took about 10hrs /played. I leveled fishing to 300 on my twink rogue just prior to Wrath, then to 375 on my new DK the past two weekends. Problem with leveling fishing and cooking together is that it requires running all over Azeroth, Outland, and Northrend searching for the schools of fish you need for your cooking recipes.įishing already takes hella long just in one spot, if you run all over using it to gather cooking mats too, it will take you literally days /played. Then use that money to buy all the cooking mats you need from the AH and powerlevel cooking. Either way, they sell for about 20g/ stack. Auction all the Deviate Fish you catch (or cook them into Savory Deviate Delite if you can get the recipe). ![]() Level fishing all the way at one of the pools in the Barrens, or inside WC instance. which is mostly useful when trying to conserve GP for using Double Hook. Here's another strategy. You should also use this when you're trying to avoid using Chum before attempting the cast. ![]() Use this to increase the yield of the catch by using Double Hook. Macro 2 is for when you're actually paying attention for some added efficiency and if you know the tug of the fish that you're actually farming for. The only issue with the macro is that if you mash the button when you have more than 290 GP, it'll use Chum multiple times, but it's only really an issue for when you start because once you go below 290 GP, you'll never regenerate GP faster than you spend it. and thus it works flawlessly even with just one button! Notice that at any part of the "fishing cycle", you really can only use one of any of these actions. And again, if unable to do so, it'll try to use Chum, and then finally attempt to cast a line. if it is unable to do so for whatever reason, it'll try to Hook your line. You can literally use just this macro and be able to simply spam it whenever you get a bite. Macro 1 works as the lazy man's fishing macro. I decided to share them to reddit's wider audience to make other people's fishing careers somewhat simpler. I thought that these macros (or something similar to them) were widely used since they're so simple and I've been using them since ARR (edited for current skills ofc), but it seems like they aren't as well known as I think they should be. So I showed a few people 2 very simple macros that I use when fishing, and most of them were surprised that you really could simplify all the fishing actions into 2 macros that even in FFXIV's shitty macro system, work very well contextually. but anyways, some people didn't believe me when I said I use 2 buttons to fish max, or even just 1 button when I'm lazy. Mostly, it's for Octopus to use in making Takoyaki. I've been fishing a lot lately when waiting for PF to fill or when just hanging out with friends on Discord.
